Me reclamaron en algún lugar (cuando lean esta reseña los responsables se darán por enterados) que no había ninguna reseña a películas tipo “comedia romántica” en nuestro sitio. Frente a esa acusación, y aprovechando nuestra sección de reseñas slowpoke, me tome el tiempo para escribir sobre una de las pocas películas de corte romántico que, cada vez que pillo en el cable, la dejo puesta porque me gusta bastante.
La película en cuestión es “Definitivamente, tal vez”, protagonizada por Ryan Reynolds, Isla Fisher, Rachel Weisz, Elizabeth Banks y la pequeña (en ese momento) Abigail Breslin. Dirigida por Adam Brooks, fue estrenada el año 2008 y la recepción fue bastante positiva en su momento. Ahora ¿Por qué debería usted ver esta película? Se lo cuento a continuación.
La historia nos muestra a Will Hayes (Reynolds), enfrentando su proceso de divorcio y acomodándose a las nuevas circunstancias. En ese escenario, al ir a buscar a su pequeña hija Maya (Breslin) al colegio, se encuentra con un interés especial por parte de ésta (luego de una clase de sexualidad por cierto) en conocer la historia de cómo se conocieron sus padres. Will, luego de algunos tiras y aflojas, accede a contar la historia a su hija. Sin embargo, desafía a Maya a identificar a su madre entre las participantes de la historia, a quienes les cambia el nombre y obviamente, modifica u oculta algunos datos que no son aptos para menores.
A partir de este punto, nos concentramos en la historia de cómo Will va conociendo a sus potenciales esposas y como se siguen encontrando a pesar del paso de los años. Durante el relato, podemos ver un poco de la vida actual de Will y su hija y de cómo éste aún mantiene algún nivel de contacto con los personajes de la historia que va relatando. Lo que hace interesante y entretenida a “Definitivamente…” es que la historia se cuenta con una dinámica que no nos permite predecir de forma clara el rumbo que tomarán los acontecimientos (por lo menos en los primeros ¾ de película). Además, las intervenciones de Maya, interrumpiendo directamente el relato y poniendo en algunos aprietos a su padre, son siempre bien logradas y bastante inteligentes. Es cierto que a veces da la sensación de que la pequeña tiene la sabiduría del Dalái Lama, pero siendo honestos. ¿Quién no ha conocido niños con una capacidad casi única de preguntar lo que nadie se atreve, en el momento justo?
Una mención especial se llevan los intereses amorosos de Will en esta película. Tanto Fisher, Weisz y Banks están muy bien en sus papeles, todas con características que las hacen únicas en el relato pero que al final, nos permiten entender porque las cosas terminan como terminan. En resumen, una película entretenida de principio a fin, digna de ser vista en pareja mientras se toman un helado o se comen las cabritas un domingo en la tarde.
