The Flash, segunda temporada: Cuando las series de superhéroes se hacen con cariño
The Flash (Jueves 23:00 horas Warner Channel) fue una de las grandes sorpresas entre las series que se estrenaron la pasada temporada. Su gran mérito era rescatar la esencia del personaje, contar una historia bien armada y bien desarrollada, que no caía en excesos de ningún tipo. Historia de superhéroes en estado puro. Todo lo anterior, apoyado por un elenco que lucía en cada uno de sus roles, y donde destacaba de sobre manera el personaje de Tom Cavanagh como el profesor Harrison Wells. El tipo simplemente se roba la película (o la serie, mejor dicho en este caso).
La primera temporada terminó muy arriba, dejando la puerta abierta a algo que todos los fanáticos de DC quieren ver en pantalla (no vamos a revelar mucho por si alguien se anima a ver la serie) y por lo tanto, deseosos de que empezara la siguiente temporada. A esta altura, ya han pasado tres capítulos de la “Season 2”, y nos preguntamos ¿Mantiene The Flash la nota alta? o ¿Comienza a dar señales de desgaste la formula? Vamos a comentar.
Esta temporada comienza con un Flash que es completamente reconocido por su ciudad (Central City) quienes para agradecerle sus servicios, celebra un día en honor al superhéroe. A partir de ahí, nos enteramos que durante este tiempo Flash a estado reconstruyendo la ciudad y obviamente, ayudando a los habitantes de Central City de múltiples maneras.
Por otro lado, Barry Allen (El hombre tras la máscara de Flash) sigue con su vida. Trabajando como forense en la policía de Central City y resolviendo sus problemas juveniles, los que incluyen a su padre encarcelado, su amor no correspondido y por supuesto, la forma en que debe lidiar con su alter ego.
El problema de estos primeros capítulos de la segunda temporada es que pese a que avanza en los temas que quedaron pendientes, la serie sigue utilizando la misma fórmula. Tenemos por un lado el problema global, encarnado esta temporada en el villano Zoom, que será el hilo conductor de toda la historia. Por otro, el enemigo de la semana, que Barry/Flash con el apoyo de sus compañeros se encargara de superar. Finalmente tenemos a Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), quien viene a tomar el relevo como mentor de Barry en lugar de Harrison Wells. En resumen, todo sigue demasiado igual a la temporada pasada.
Es de esperar que la trama avance y salgamos un poco de la sensación de estancamiento que nos han dejado estos primeros capítulos. Las nuevas incorporaciones que vienen a desarrollar las tramas secundarias por ahora no lucen demasiado y la historia principal deja una sensación de “deja vu” difícil de superar. Sin embargo, la serie mantiene elementos que hacen que uno no pierda la fe. El cariño por el personaje sigue ahí, la química entre los compañeros de Flash se mantiene intacta, y el universo superheroico de Warner sigue creciendo a pasos agigantados. Por lo tanto, quiero creer que este solo es un comienzo lento y que los próximos capítulos retomaran la buena senda de la primera temporada. Por lo menos yo, espero con confianza lo que el velocista escarlata tiene que ofrecernos.
